Unable to contact postmaster

If you receive "unable to contact postmaster" errors, insure that your Postgres postmaster is running on port 5432. Furthermore, insure that the postmaster is started with -i. The -I parameter enables the postmaster service to listen for and accept tcp connections. Finally, if the problem persists, insure that you are passing the correct Postgres database name, username, and password.
