How do I dump the Sybase error log?

At the time of writing, there does not appear to be a formal means for dumping Sybase error logs. Contact Sybase Support for additional information. Evidence suggests that dumping logs associated with live servers should be done with care due to potential inode issues and permanent loss of space consumed by the original, large log files.
