    Single-Tier

    OpenLink's Single-Tier drivers are clientside-only drivers. They are developed solely for use on WinNT clients, and they rely upon the database's native communications layer to establish their connection. If you want to use Single-Tier drivers, you must install both the drivers and the database client on your PC.

    Finally, OpenLink urges you to employ Multi-Tier drivers when possible. However, Single-Tier drivers are suitable, if you cannot install software to your server.
