Cvsid

OpenLink's executables return version strings. These version strings provide version, release, and cvsid information, which pertains to that component. Here, cvsid stands for Concurrent Versions System ID.

Concurrent Versions System (CVS) is a Unix-based program, which allows developers to save and manage different versions of code. While products may share the same version and release, a different cvsid indicates that they have derived from a different development build or "cut." Therefore, these components may have subtly different characteristics. This information is important to Support staff, if they must debug a problem.
