Configure a DB2 Database Alias (Windows)
Use the following instructions to configure a DB2 Database Alias on Windows operating systems:
1. Login to the computer that contains your DB2 native client.
2. Expand the following menus: Start -> All Programs -> IBM DB2 -> Set-up Tools
3. Launch the Configuration Assistant.

Expand the Selected menu.
5. Select the following option: Add new database using Wizard
6. Select the following option: Manually configure a connection to a database
7. Click Next.
8. Select the TCP/IP protocol.
9. Click Next.
10. Provide the following information:
- Hostname
- Service Name
- Port Number
11. Click Next.
12. Provide the following information:
- Your target database name
- An alias for your database
- An optional comment
13. Click Next.
14. Ensure that the "Register this database for ODBC checkbox" is checked.

Ensure the "As system data source radio button" is selected.
16. Provide a meaningful name for your System Data Source Name.
17. Click Next.
18. Provide the following information:
- The local operating system
- The name of the remote DB2 instance
- An optional comment
19. Click Next.
20. Provide the following information:
- System name
- Host name
- Operating system
- Comment
21. Click Next.
22. Select the appropriate authentication model for your DBMS.

Click Finish.
