Clients cannot connect to Progress 9 databases which are hosted anywhere within the {{{$DLC}}} directory structure. 

You should {{{cp}}} or {{{mv}}} your databases — and related files — to a "{{{wrk}}}" or other directory structure that resides parallel to — or above — {{{$DLC}}}. 

This limitation does not exist in Progress 8 or earlier.
