<para>It is sometimes necessary to link or re-link your OpenLink database agents.
 Typical reasons include:</para><itemizedlist mark="bullet" spacing="compact"><listitem> No database agent executable was supplied with the OpenLink server components installed on your <ulink url="OpenLink">OpenLink</ulink> server machine.
</listitem>
<listitem> A database agent executable file exists but is unable to converse with your database server due to version incompatibility.</listitem>
</itemizedlist><para>OpenLink provides a database agent relink script for each supported database engine.
 These scripts are named using the following convention:</para><itemizedlist mark="bullet" spacing="compact"><listitem>  <computeroutput>ld</computeroutput> - indicates a link script </listitem>
<listitem>  <computeroutput>XXX</computeroutput> - first three letters (perhaps 4) of database name </listitem>
<listitem> <computeroutput>NN</computeroutput> - major and perhaps minor release number </listitem>
<listitem> <computeroutput>mv</computeroutput> - If the agent is multi-threaded</listitem>
</itemizedlist><para>Examples: <computeroutput>ldora81mv</computeroutput> is a multi-threaded agent for Oracle 8i.
 <computeroutput>ldoig2</computeroutput> is a single-threaded agent for Ingres II.
