= Glossary Entry: {{{ValidUIDRange}}} =

The {{{ValidUIDRange}}} ("Valid UID Range") parameter appears in the Multi-Tier Broker Rulebook.  This setting is used in combination with <code>[[GlossaryEntryOPSYSLOGIN|OpSysLogin]]</code>.

Unix-like OS have numeric UIDs in addition to their usernames.  When {{{ValidUIDRange}}} is set, the Broker will verify that the authenticating user's UID is within the specified range (inclusive).
