    Tracing ODBC Activity with OpenLink ODBC Scan

    1. Launch the OPLScan32 executable.
    2. Expand the Query menu.
    3. Click Connect.
    4. Select your target DSN.
    5. Click OK.
    6. Provide authentication, as needed.
    7. Click OK.
    8. Expand the Trace menu.
    9. Insure Time Each API is checked.
    10. Select Options.
    11. Click the Data Source icon.
    12. Use the Data Source folders to locate your Data Source.
    13. Highlight your Data Source.
    14. Click the Options icon.
    15. Insure Log to File is checked.
    16. Set a path for the log file, e.g., C:\scan.log, in the text box.
    17. Click OK.
    18. Expand the Trace menu.
    19. Click Start.
    20. Perform your query with your application.
    21. Check your target log file for the desired output.

    If your target log file is empty, try this:

    1. Expand the Trace menu.
    2. Click Options.
    3. Click the Process icon.
    4. Choose one of these two options:
      • Click Trace Log Against Process and pick the process from the list box
      • Click Trace Log Against Exe and pass the full path to your application executable
    5. Click OK.
    6. Click the Trace menu.
    7. Click Start.
    8. Repeat the query with your application.
    9. Check your target log file for the desired output.
