Using Microsoft SQLServer's linked server option, trying to "view" a Table or View results in the following error:

Error:
Error 7311: Could not obtain the schema rowset for OLE DB provider "UNKNOWN". The provider supports the interface, but returns a failure code when it is used.

Server: Msg 7350, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
Could not get the column information from the OLE DB provider
'OpenLinkODBC'

Resolution:

1. Link in the remote server, select "Provider Options".

2. Check the "In Process" option.

This will resolve the problem.
