System Requirements

Prerequisites and System Requirements

Express Edition

You must install OpenLink's Express Edition drivers on a supported operating system. The currently supported operating systems are Mac OS X 10.3 (PPC), Mac OS X 10.4 (PPC & Intel). The host operating system must also contain a suitable JVM version. Ask OpenLink Product Support for current JVM version requirements. You can run the following command in Terminal to check your JVM version: java -version

Single-Tier

You must install OpenLink's Single-Tier drivers on a supported operating system. You must install DB2, Informix, Ingres, Oracle, and Progress drivers on a machine, which contains a functional copy of your database native client. You must install ODBC Lite drivers on a system that contains a 3rd party data source, which connects to your database.

Multi-Tier

You must install OpenLink's Multi-Tier client and server components on one or more supported operating systems. If you intend to connect to DB2, Informix, Ingres, Oracle, or Progress, you must install your Request Broker and database agent on an operating system which contains your database or database native client. You must always install Generic ODBC drivers on a system that contains a 3rd-party data source, which connects to your database.

iODBC Driver Manager, ODBC Bench, ODBC Scan

You must install the iODBC Driver Manager, OpenLink ODBC Bench, and ODBC Scan on a supported client operating system.

Other

You may require a compiler and library linker, if you intend to develop ODBC compliant applications or relink OpenLink's agents or Driver Manager. You can use the find command to search for compilers and library linkers on your Unix system. cc is a C compiler, and CC is a C++ compiler. Other compilers will have variants of cc or CC in the name. ld is a library linker.
