Pre-Installation Requirements for Windows Clients

DBMS Requirements

You need to know a variety of information pertaining to your target Informix instance and database:

• Database Name
  
• Informix Instance Name
  
• Informix Instance Startup Mode (Sockets or Shared Memory)
  
• Informix Service Name
  
• Informix TCP Port Number
  
• Database Server Hostname or IP Address

Software Requirements

• You must have Informix native client software installed on the same machine as your OpenLink Lite Informix driver. You can obtain this software free of charge. It is including in the Informix Client SDK downloads on the IBM Web site.

Configuration Requirements

• You need to configure your Informix client for connectivity to the remote Informix DBMS.
